Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 61 – Plans that Never Fall Through

through

I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.
-Job 42:2

How many times have you spent hours, maybe days or months, to make a plan that will help you reach your goals? And just when you are ready to put it into place, something or someone gets in the way and the plan falls through? So you go back to the drawing board to come up with another plan—one that won’t be “thwarted.”

Dr. Snyder explains the importance of this passage: “This short passage has two very important things packed into it. First, it means what the rest of the Bible means when it says that God can do anything he wants without exception; and second, it means that what he does is directly connected to his design. In other words, he has plans, and nothing on this earth can stop, derail, delay, or preempt them. Nothing.

“Most of our prayers are consciously or unconsciously based on some clear promise made by God in Scripture. We ask for things because we have solid reasons for thinking that he’ll grant them. So don’t let anything take away your motivation to keep praying, asking, and waiting, because your ground for staying the course is stronger and more solid than anything else you can find in this life. Don’t worry—if it’s good for us and fits his plan for us, it’s a done deal. If not, he’ll protect us even from our greatest desires.”

TODAY’S PRAYER: Do you keep laying your plans at Jesus’ feet then picking them up again and trying to do things your way? Ask him to give you the patience to wait for his best plans and the ability to trust him to bring them about no matter how long it takes.
