Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 81 – The Good, the Bad, and the World

He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends ruin on the righteous and the unrighteous.
-Matthew 5:45

Does this verse make you sit up and take notice? God sends good to that person who has wronged you just like he sends good to you! How can that be? Check out Luke 6:35 where we learn he is a kind and generous God even to the ungrateful and wicked. And Paul in Romans 2:4 says it’s God’s kindness that is intended to lead people to repentance.

Dr. Snyder also comments on the goodness of God: “It’s far too easy to underestimate the generosity and goodness of God. When he doesn’t give us what we want when we want it, we imagine him callous and miserly. But when we pray, we should keep this in the forefront of our minds. God listens carefully to us and considers our requests with perfect knowledge and intelligence, with incomparable wisdom in what he should grant and not grant, and when.

TODAY’S PRAYER: As you pray, count your blessings for all the wonderful gifts that God has already bestowed on you. Remind him that you desire him and his kingdom even more than all the earthly gifts he brings.
