May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Dr. Snyder asks: “Do you know what it’s like to overflow with hope? Have you ever experienced it?”
He goes on to say: “This hope grows steadily as we grow to trust in a loving God. There’s a teeter-totter relationship between trust and hope that’s easy to observe. When our trust in God is high, our despair and distress are low, and when our trust is low, our despair rises. So as we go through life and its turmoil learning to trust God more, we gain a deep sense of hope for the future.
“And by the way, every time we come through another storm successfully, we gain even more attention from our unbelieving or skeptical neighbors and give them even more reasons to think that our faith is something worth having.”
TODAY’S PRAYER: Never forget there is no greater word of hope anywhere on earth than the gospel of Jesus. Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring you the gift of joyful hope even before the day God answers your prayers.
