“How Can I Homeschool?” Davis and Rachael Carman on CD Speak UP!

Davis Carman got started on his homeschool adventure with a providential two-by-four on the side of his head. Twenty years and three graduates later, he hopes to share some of the lessons he has learned along the way to help other families enjoy the most successful, satisfying, and Christ-centered home school experience possible.

His mission is to help homeschooling families learn, live, and defend the Christian faith. This is accomplished in part through his work as president of Apologia Educational Ministries, the #1 publisher of Creation-based science and Bible curriculum with more than fifty #1 awards from families, homeschool organizations, and media.

Rachael Carman had it going on—or so she thought. After surviving sixty-three months of pregnancy, countless sleepless nights, and 35,000+ diapers, this one-time control freak encountered God’s grace. And she encourages you to do the same.

Rachael is not only a respected author but a sought-after speaker. She has spoken across the United States as well as in Europe, Asia, and Africa. She has been married to her husband, Davis, since 1986. Together, their life has been a roller-coaster ride, with God at the controls. They have seven kids with whom they love to laugh. Rachael enjoys playing in the dirt, eating dark chocolate, and walking on the beach. She and Davis are the owners of Apologia Educational Ministries.

Scott McCausey

Scott McCausey is the Director of Radio Ministries at Christian Devotions Ministries. God presented this unique challenge in January of 2010 and has since brought exciting, well-know Christian leaders to the show he hosts, Christian Devotions Speak UP! Guests have included Christian recording artists, famous authors, ministers and evangelists and famous sports celebrities, all whom share a common goal to spread the word of Jesus Christ. Scott’s day job has him formulating polyurethane systems for Innovative Polymers of St. Johns, Michigan. He has performed various duties within this company for over 23 years and his vast knowledge of chemistry helps answer technical questions and steer new programs in the right direction. At home, Scott is the father of five children. He has been married to his wife Renee for over 20 years and he leads a Family Integrated Church in the mid-Michigan area.
