Episode 29: Light for Those Who Sit in Darkness

We live in uncertain times when those of us in the West, who have benefited from a culture saturated with the light of the Gospel of Jesus, are fearing the effects of secularization on the foundations of our society and family life. But is fear the correct response? As Christians, we are to engage our culture with the light of Christ, the only and best response to the darkness surrounding us.

Jesus commanded his apostles to go into the world and make disciples. The night before he went to the cross, Jesus prayed for their mission:

“I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.”John:17:14-19 (ESV)

It cuts through, and this sermon seeks to point the listener to that light and the life He gives. Listen, and share!
