Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 97 – Our Growing Faith

still

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
-Psalm 46:10

My prayer is that your faith has been growing, as has mine, through Dr. Snyder’s comments on the passages we read each day and through our time in prayer together. Now, let’s see what Dr. Snyder has to say about our growing faith.

“The psalmist’s words are an echo of those of Moses when he stood near the Red Sea with the approaching Egyptian army on one side and the sea on the other. When the Hebrews stood on the shore looking at the two options of either drowning on the one hand or being recaptured and enslaved by the cruel Egyptians, they were filled with fear. Moses reassured them with the command to stand firm, be still, and allow God to do what he can do (Ex. 14:13-14).

If there’s something that God wants us to learn above everything else in life, it’s this: we are not nor can we be in charge of our destiny. In most of the great crises and turning points in life, our task is not to attempt to fix or save ourselves but to be still in expectant faith and wait for the deliverance of God. It is God and God alone who will be exalted among the nations of the earth.”

TODAY’S PRAYER: Have you tried everything you can to fix the circumstance you’re facing? Take the time today just to be still before God and know that he can do what we cannot.
