Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 32 – Not Guilty!

guilty

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
-Romans 8:1

Do your believe this? Or do you feel guilty?

Do you feel truly forgiven, or do you, like many of us, let those old guilt feelings creep back in which make us feel once again condemn for past sins?

Dr. Snyder tells us how to keep that from happening and to remember God’s promise of forgiveness:

“This truth of God’s forgiveness is something we need to bring to the forefront of our minds every day. It tends to fade as the pressures of the daily grind steadily displace the simple joy of first discovery. We should start every morning and end every evening with this comforting knowledge and quickly disregard every other counter-message from anyone around us (or even from an off-base or toxic church) that tries to penetrate our thinking.

“Walk through each and every day with this confidence. There is no condemnation. If you fall, then get up, confess, and repent. The slate is clean again. God’s mercies are fresh every morning. This is the foundation for optimistic living, one that is rooted not in us or our opinion of ourselves (good or bad) but in the unchanging character of God.”

TODAY’S PRAYER: There’s nothing that keeps us going through a long season of actively waiting prayer better than the confidence that we are free from condemnation and guilt. It’s your inheritance. Enjoy it. Thank God for it.
