This week we get into the nitty gritty of the Lord of the Ring series and for some background and history of Tolkien we start off with the article 9 Things you need to know about J.R.R. Tolkien before he wrote the series. We also chat about his like and worldview and why he would have be able to be so positive though he went through some horrific things in his life.
We also read a Poem by T.S. Eliot called The Hollow Men and talk about the contrast in the worldview between Tolkien and Elliot and why they had such differing perspectives though they went through similar things in life.
Then in the meat of the episode we talk about the Creation, Fall, Redemption narrative and really focus in on the creation side in this episode. We look at and pull out some aspect of the movie that should draw our attention to this narrative as we see in the Bible.
