Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 2 – Don’t Worry

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about your body, what you will wear…But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. -Matthew 6:25,33

Isn’t it wonderful that God’s word tells us not to worry about anything? God will take care of everything if we trust and believe him. So why don’t we trust him to do as he says? German missionary George Mueller struggled and worried for years about how he was going to feed hundreds of hungry orphans until the day came when, he said, “Worry and I parted ways.”

Dr. Snyder explains why George Mueller was able to part ways with worry: “George Mueller simply discovered on the basis of his own long-term experience that God is faithful every day and that worry not only is an enormous waste of time and energy but it also unrealistic. It’s out of place in a life of mature faith.” He goes on to say, “So put God and his kingdom first, and let him bring to you, as you sleep, all the things the rest of the world works feverishly through the night trying to acquire.”

TODAY’S PRAYER: Ask God to reveal the secret place of worry and anxiety that surround you and your need.
