Acts 12:19-25. In Acts 12, Herod succeeded in killing James and meant to kill Peter too. Even though Peter miraculously broke out of prison, there was no end in sight for Herod’s murderous crime spree. It was hard to imagine anything breaking the churches way with a guy like that in charge.
Then he was eaten by worms and died.
Yep, Luke says it just like that.
