Leaving everything behind in Southern California, they boarded the Africa Mercy in Las Palmas, and made their way to Dakar, Senegal, for their first field service. Mercy Ships is an international Christian charity bringing hope and healing in Africa. Their state-of-the-art hospital ships are the most efficient way to deliver free medical care to those in need. Mercy Ships are crewed by selfless volunteer medical professionals, providing surgical care and surgical education, community development projects, health education and mental health programs, and much more.
